Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our heirloom beans and pantry staples.

How long do dried beans stay fresh?

Our heirloom beans are from the most recent harvest, meaning they are much fresher than supermarket varieties. For best results, we recommend consuming them within two years, though they remain safe to eat indefinitely if stored in a cool, dry place.

Do I really need to soak my beans before cooking?

While soaking can reduce cooking time and help with even hydration, it is not strictly necessary for our fresh-harvest beans. You can cook them directly from dry, though it may take an additional 30 to 60 minutes.

When will my order ship?

We typically process and ship orders within 3 to 5 business days. During peak holiday seasons or after a new product launch, processing may take slightly longer. You will receive a tracking number via email as soon as your package leaves our warehouse.

What is the Rancho Gordo Bean Club?

The Bean Club is a quarterly subscription service where members receive a curated selection of heirloom beans and grains. Due to high demand, there is currently a waiting list which you can join on our website.

Do you offer international shipping?

Currently, we ship to addresses within the United States and Canada. Due to complex agricultural regulations, we are unable to ship our beans to other international destinations at this time.

What is your return policy for food items?

To ensure food safety, we cannot accept returns on food products. However, if your order arrives damaged or if there is an error with your shipment, please contact our customer service team within 14 days for a replacement or refund.
